Best action this week has been with kite fishing, multiple shots everyday on sailfish. A kite spreads baits out over a vast area of water and holds each bait at the surface. The baits thrashing causes distress vibrations which can only mean the sailfish should not be too far away from striking. We keep an eye out for frigates and other birds diving as we are drifting or trolling which can be a sign of other big fish on a school of bait fish.
A few big wahoo's coming in the boat along with quite a number of dolphin (mahi mahi) and some kingfish. I'm expecting the sailfish and dolphin bite to continue being action packed! This is a great time of year to also target kingfish and cobia as we get into Spring fishing season. Both species put on big fight - so be ready to hang on! Cobia also makes a great fish to take home for dinner. I look forward to getting you on the water to experience everything we have to offer in the area during your fishing trip! Capt. Alex Burgess
